SAN DIEGO, CA.- The San Diego Museum of Art will present Jasper Johns’ Green Angel: The Making of a Print, on view January 13–March 18, 2007. This new focus display highlights Green Angel, a significant etching by major contemporary artist Jasper Johns, which Johns donated to the Museum in 2006. Featured along with the work is a complete set of 17 proofs that reveal the creative process surrounding the image, original etching plates, and another, very recently acquired piece from the Green Angel series, Green Angel 2.

With SDMA’s special exhibition Personal Views closing on Sunday, January 7, visitors have one last chance to view 25 of the finest private art collections in San Diego all under one roof. In conjunction with the exhibition’s final days, the Museum will host its second Collectors Panel on Thursday, January 4, that will feature several prominent speakers discussing the art of collecting.
