NEW YORK, NY.- Galerie Lelong announced that Jeff Bergman has joined the gallery as Director in New York. Together with directors Liz Bower, Katherine Chan, and Grace Hong, he will be a part of the gallery’s sales team and work with artists from the gallery’s multi-generational and international program.

Mary Sabbatino, the gallery’s Vice President and Partner writes: "I am proud to welcome Jeff to the gallery team. His longstanding support of many artists in the gallery’s program and connections to our broader community feel fortuitous, and I look forward to the fresh perspective and wisdom he will bring."

Bergman has two decades of experience as an arts professional in New York, including in senior staff positions at RYAN LEE Gallery and Pace Prints. In addition, he has curated exhibitions and lectured on art and professional practice. Bergman invests what time he can to mentoring artists—first at NEW INC. and then at Upward & Associates, an organization which he co-directs.

Bergman comments: “Galerie Lelong has a legacy of supporting meaningful art and creating brilliant and challenging exhibitions. As long as I have been in the contemporary art world, Galerie Lelong has been home to contemporary artists whose work I greatly respect but also a place to discover historically important artists that might otherwise have been less visible. Being a part of that legacy is a thrill and an honor. In 1994, I was a student docent at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum and the very first show I worked on featured Leonardo Drew. It’s wonderfully rewarding to have that relationship continue here at Lelong.”
