Reflex Amsterdam presents Lucienne O'Mara's first solo exhibition in the Netherlands |

AMSTERDAM.- The exhibition marks the beginning of a new collaboration between the gallery and O'Mara, who is known for her powerful paintings in which texture and emotion are in constant interplay.
Lucienne O'Mara (London, 1989) paints in an abstract visual language where grids offer both structure and disruption. In her work, distance becomes soft, time is layered, and fixed patterns give way to emotion and intuition. Her paintings invite a different way of seeing, one in which the familiar slowly dissolves and space opens up for imagination and wonder.
The American artist Agnes Martin (19122004) once showed a rose to her friends granddaughter and asked: Is this rose beautiful? Then she hid the rose behind her back and asked again: Is the rose still beautiful? You see! Beauty exists in the mind, not in the rose. Lucienne O'Mara
Reflex Amsterdam partnered with Lucienne O'Mara for her first exhibition in the Netherlands and the accompanying publication. Her work and vision align seamlessly with the gallerys international program, which embraces both emerging talent and established names.
Lucienne O'Mara lives and works in London. She studied at City & Guilds Art School and Turps Banana. Her accolades include the Painter-Stainers Prize and the Tony Carter Award, and she was a finalist for the Ingram Prize. Previous solo exhibitions have taken place at Nino Mier Gallery (New York), Vigo Gallery (London), and Flowers Gallery (London). Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions including Strata (New York), Push/Pull (London), and Supernova (Flowers Gallery, London).
