MONTREAL.- The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts announced that Stacey Masson is joining its team as Director of Marketing and Communications. Reporting to the Museum’s Director, she will develop and oversee the implementation of the marketing and outreach strategy with a view to strengthening the MMFA’s position as a major player in Montreal’s cultural scene and the international museum scene.

In her role, Stacey will be responsible for several departments—Marketing; Institutional Outreach; Brand Image, Promotions and Digital Communications; Editorial Production and Content Development; and Events —as well as the Boutique and Bookstore. Backed by a team of over 30 employees, she will be tasked with increasing visitor numbers and generating independent revenue streams for the Museum.

“Stacey is a leader with a great strategic mind and strong human-centric values. Her expertise in integrated marketing communications, customer experience, and social responsibility is an invaluable asset to the Museum at this time of demographic, socioeconomic, and technological change. We wish her a warm welcome to our management committee and the MMFA team,” says Stéphane Aquin, the Rossy Foundation Director of the MMFA.

“The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has always been for me—as it has been for thousands of people from here and abroad—a place associated with deep connection, discovery and inspiration. I’m thrilled to be joining the management team of this great institution. I see this new role as an opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between the Museum and the community by drawing on the creativity, innovation, and talent of its teams,” adds Stacey Masson, Director of Marketing and Communications at the MMFA.

With 25 years’ experience in marketing and communications in the community, hospitality, and consulting sectors, Stacey Masson is recognized for her strategic thinking, optimistic leadership, and ability to leverage her teams’ expertise to achieve tangible results. Throughout her career, she has led numerous projects and initiatives in marketing, communications, digital transformation, customer experience, and sustainable development at high-profile companies.

In 2022, Stacey Masson was included in Concordia University’s 50 Under 50 list, which shines a light on individuals who are shaping the world of tomorrow. Until recently, she was Vice-President, Marketing and Communications at YMCA Québec. Previously, she was Vice- President, Marketing and Communications at Cossette, and has worked at renowned businesses like Germain Hotels, Hydro-Québec, TELUS, and Massy Forget Langlois Public Relations.

For several years, Stacey Masson has volunteered with non-profit organizations such as the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Art Souterrain, Public Relations Without Borders, and Mission inclusion. She holds a bachelor’s in Communications from Concordia University, where she also studied photography. Her joining the MMFA represents the culmination of her longstanding passion for the arts.
