MIAMI, FLA.- Fidel García, a self-taught visual artist from Puebla, Mexico, develops a painting practice that moves between figurative realism and expressive abstraction. His work explores the tension between the corporeal and the spiritual, the real and the fantastic, employing the human figure, color, and light as vehicles of emotional energy and transcendence. His visual language combines technical rigor, expressive gesture, and constant experimentation, bringing a balance between structure and spontaneity that invites the viewer to engage in introspection.

When human figures emerge within them, they convey emotions and reflections on what I see as the human odyssey, inviting viewers to connect intuitively with the life experiences each work expresses.

He prefers the female figure for its candor and receptive nature. "I aim for abstraction—representing masculine energy—to interact with the female figures, giving them depth and meaning, in a balance reminiscent of yin and yang. While I occasionally work with male figures, they occupy a more limited space, allowing the feminine to maintain symbolic prominence in my visual narratives."

Garcia's recent works combine acrylic and oil on canvas, a versatile visual language that allows him to explore nuances and textures freely. The "winged women" frequent in his narratives symbolize an elevated state of consciousness, transcending materiality and offering a vision of the true self, connecting the spiritual with the tangible in each composition.

Over more than four decades, García has established a nationally and internationally recognized career, with exhibitions in museums and galleries across Mexico, the United States, Spain, and China. His work has received awards and recognition from an early age, including the National Guadalupana Prize (1981), First Place at the Watercolor Salon (2012), and official commissions from the Government of Puebla for portraits of state governors. His international presence has been reinforced through exhibitions in museums in Arkansas, California, Florida, and North Carolina, as well as contemporary art fairs in Los Angeles, New York, and Shanghai.
