Rago / Wright welcomes Jason Stein as Senior Design Specialist
Jason has held senior roles at Bonhams, Christie’s, Butterfield & Butterfield, Paddle8, and Viyet.

LOS ANGELES, CA.- Rago / Wright announced the addition of Jason Stein as Senior Specialist, Design, based in the Los Angeles office. Jason brings more than three decades of experience in the auction industry and an exceptional depth of knowledge in 20th- and 21st-century design, further strengthening our expanding West Coast presence.

A California native, Jason has spent most of his life in Los Angeles, beginning his auction career more than 34 years ago after a serendipitous encounter with a Sotheby’s couple during a post-college trip through the South Pacific. That chance meeting sparked a lifelong passion for the auction world and marked the start of a distinguished career that has included senior roles at Bonhams, Christie’s, Butterfield & Butterfield, Paddle8, and Viyet.

Most recently, Jason spent eight years as a specialist and auction leader at Bonhams, where he helped grow the design category on the West Coast and became known for his discerning eye, strong client relationships, and long-standing commitment to the Los Angeles design community.

Jason joins Rago / Wright at an exciting moment of growth for the Design department, particularly in California, where the integration of LAMA has created a dynamic hub for modern and contemporary design. His expertise, market knowledge, and deep roots in Los Angeles will help further expand the capabilities and elevate the auction house's service to collectors, designers, and institutions across the region.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jason to the team,” says Megan Whippen, Senior Director, Strategy. “His decades of experience and his passion for design align perfectly with our vision for continued innovation and growth on the West Coast.”

Jason is now based at the Rago/Wright office located in Hollywood, California. He will work closely with our expanding team of design specialists to source, curate, and steward exceptional material for upcoming auctions.

"It's such a pleasure to join the Rago/Wright team," says Jason. "I'm excited to bring my experience and passion to a company known for its thoughtful and sophisticated approach to the art of auctions. I look forward to connecting with clients and collectors in Los Angeles and beyond as we continue to grow."
