NEW YORK, NY.- Christie's announced Design: Featuring Works from the Edlis | Neeson Collection, a live auction taking place on December 11 at Christie's Rockefeller Center. This season's sale showcases sculptural furniture, lighting, and decorative arts spanning over a century—from the Viennese Secessionists to Post-War and Contemporary Design.

Leading the sale is the celebration of CLAUDE100, a curated selection of works by Claude Lalanne commemorating the 100th anniversary of the artist's birthyear. The top lot is Claude's Unique 'Structure végétale aux papillons et oiseaux' Chandelier (2007), (Estimated at $1,800,000–2,500,000). Further works on offer in the auction by Claude Lalanne and her partner François-Xavier herald from The Collection of Bannon and Barnabas McHenry, detailing the family's lifelong journey of collecting and supporting the artist duo, including the commission for New York's Central Park Zoo, Formal Gardens in 1982. Additional works from the McHenry family collection include several lots of Claude's celebrated jewelry and François-Xavier's revered 'Mouton Transhumant' (Estimate: $200,000–300,000).

Other top highlights include outstanding designs by Alberto and Diego Giacometti. Three rare chandeliers by Diego will be offered in consecutive lots, Property from the Estate of Jerry Ganz, and celebrated designs such as the 'Colonne aux Anneaux et Hibou Grand Duc' table lamp (Estimate: $200,000-300,000) and 'À deux têtes de cheval et à cinq branches' pair of candelabra, designed for Alberto Giacometti's 50th birthday (1951) (Estimate: $250,000–350,000), Property of a Distinguished International Collector, will round out the offering by Diego.

Earlier international design will be on offer, from American great Frank Lloyd Wright with Two Important and Rare 'Sumac' Windows, designed for the Susan Lawrence Dana House, Springfield, Illinois, circa 1902-1904, Property from a Prominent Private Collection (Estimate: $500,000-700,000); to Viennese Dagobert Peche with A rare and Important Side Table, designed for Wolko Gartenberg's drawing room (1913) (Estimate: $250,000–350,000), Property from the Collection of Tina and Jerry Moss.

From An Enquiring Eye: Property from a Distinguished Private Collector, the sale features additional early 20th-century Austrian design, including: Set of Six Chairs, Model No. 405, designed for the Paul Hofner Restaurant, Vienna, 1903, by Josef Urban (Estimate: $40,000–60,000). Additional works featured in the sale are by Josef Hoffmann and Otto Wagner.

Post-War French design is represented by Jean Prouvé, Serge Mouille, and Jean Royère, including a rare set of twelve dining chairs from the Edlis | Neeson Collection (Estimate: $100,000–150,000), reflecting the evolution of modern design through the mid-20th century.

Studio pottery is led by standout works from Lucie Rie and Hans Coper, offered from The Collection of Robert F. and Patricia G. Ross Weis. Additional highlights include ceramics by Jun Kaneko from Elaine: The Collection of Elaine Wynn.

The sale also celebrates international design excellence with works by Gio Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Piero Fornasetti, and Poul Henningsen, underscoring the global legacy of 20th-century architecture and design. This season we are honored to present a rare opportunity at the reinterpretation of Tobia Scarpa's 'Biagio' table lamp for FLOS, a limited edition of the design in carved and polished onyx, celebrating the artist's 90th birthyear.
