ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA.-The State Russian Museum presents Herbarium Amoris - Tercentenary exhibition of Carl von Linné. The year of 2007 marks the tercentenary of Carl von Linne, a great Swedish scientist. On the eve of his jubilee celebrations the Russian Museum in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sweden and the Swedish Institute opens the exhibition dedicated to flowers and plants that Carl von Linne studied all his life. The exhibition comprises the works by the Swedish photographer Edvard Koinberg (born: 1964) inspired by Linne's treatise on the sexes of plants, illustrations by F. Tolstoy (1783-1873) for botanical atlases, drawings by P. Filonov (1883-1941) and a canvas by V. Sverchkov (1820-1888) from the storages of the Russian Museum.
