PARIS.- As Parcours des Mondes prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary this September, the leading international event dedicated to the arts of Africa, the Americas, Oceania, Asia, and archaeology has announced the appointment of Marie Duarte-Gogat as its new general coordinator.
In her new role, Duarte-Gogat will work closely with Yves-Bernard Debie, general director of the event, supporting the next phase of development for a fair that has become a key annual meeting point for galleries, collectors, curators, and institutions specializing in non-Western and ancient arts.
Duarte-Gogat brings with her a deep knowledge of both scholarship and the art market. Trained in art history at the École du Louvre, where she specialized in the Arts of the Americas, she went on to build her career at the Bernard Dulon gallery, collaborating with the Paris-based dealer for nearly fifteen years, including a long tenure as gallery director. A member of the Compagnie Nationale des Experts (CNE), she is widely regarded as a respected and trusted voice in the field, known for her market insight and her ability to foster constructive dialogue between galleries and collectors.
Her arrival signals a moment of transition and ambition for Parcours des Mondes. According to Debie, the event is entering a new phase of development, with clear priorities: strengthening its international profile, attracting a broader range of foreign galleries, staying attentive to contemporary creation, and building stronger partnerships with cultural institutions. Marie Duarte-Gogats experiencecombining expertise, market knowledge, and hands-on practiceallows us to structure this momentum and ensure it continues sustainably in the years to come, he said.
For Duarte-Gogat, the appointment is both a professional milestone and a familiar return. Parcours des Mondes is an event I know well, from the perspectives of both galleries and the market, she noted. It is a demanding event, built on the quality of the works presented and on the trust shared between professionals and collectors. Im excited to contribute my experience to its future.
Founded in Paris and traditionally held in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, Parcours des Mondes has, over the past quarter century, established itself as a benchmark for rigorous connoisseurship and scholarly engagement in the field of tribal and ancient arts. As it marks its 25th edition, the appointment of Marie Duarte-Gogat underscores the fairs intention not only to honor its legacy, but also to adapt and expand its reach in an increasingly global and interconnected art market.
