MONTREAL.- The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Foundation announced that The Molson Foundation will donate $500,000 to its major fundraising campaign, The Museum Transforms Lives.

In the spirit of trust that has marked its close philanthropic collaboration with the MMFA for nearly fifty years, The Molson Foundation is keen to support the institution’s core priorities. The funds raised by this campaign are allocated to the Museum’s programming, permanent collection, and education and community engagement initiatives, as well as to the special projects that help make the Museum a vibrant space serving the community.

“The MMFA is a cornerstone of Montreal’s cultural life, giving hundreds of thousands of people the chance to learn and be inspired by art while shining a spotlight on our city,” says Andrew Molson of The Molson Foundation. “We believe the Museum is well prepared to meet the challenges ahead, and we’re proud to play a role in its transformation over the coming years.”

“We are delighted and honoured by The Molson Foundation’s vote of confidence, and are deeply grateful,” added Stéphane Aquin, the Rossy Foundation Director of the MMFA. This donation will allow the Museum to continue fulfilling the needs of its various publics and making art accessible to as many people as possible. The Foundation’s extraordinary philanthropic generosity attests to our longstanding relationship of trust, and the funds will go towards supporting the MMFA’s core priorities, including our education and community engagement programs and activities.”

Jo-Anne Duchesne, Director General of the MMFA Foundation, noted “This major donation is an honour for the Foundation. It is a testament to the wonderful collaboration that has been ongoing for nearly fifty years, and our team is extremely grateful to be part of this long and storied tradition. With its generous donation, The Molson Foundation has once again demonstrated its deep commitment to the Museum and its values, helping make the transformative benefits of art available to all. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to The Molson Foundation for its remarkable support.”
