OXFORD, UK.- ChristChurch Oxford presents Multiple Masters: French prints after paintings, 1700 1900, on view through April 15, 2007. For over two centuries, French printmakers specialised in the reproduction of paintings. This exhibition presents their varied interpretations through lithographs, etchings and photography as well as traditional engraving.
An in-depth Study Day on the topic of the reproductive print will be held at the Maison Française on the 3rd March 2007 from 11am to 5pm. The Study Day is organised by Stephen Bann, University of Bristol. For further information please call the Picture Gallery on 01865 276 172.
