Athletes, Parents Submit Title IX Complaints Involving UF Water Polo President Logan Mazor

In September 2024, the University of Florida’s Women’s Water Polo team hosted an event at the Florida Pool on the UF Campus. Teams from around Florida came to Gainesville, Florida, to participate in this collegiate event. Little did they know what they had in store for them at the pool.

During the course of my investigation I have uncovered some troubling issues with UF Student Affairs and the Division of Recreational Sports in particular. During the tournament the UF Men’s team lead by Logan Mazor (their then president), entered a team. Since most of the teams in the tournament comprised younger athletes, some as young as 13, the UF Men’s team dominated the other teams physically. Our story gets interesting, as one of the men’s teams athletes recounted to me, Logan is by nature a bully and lets just say was not a gracious winner. After one of the games had concluded and the teams were shaking hands Logan reached out to the other teams Coach, made like he was going to strike the man and called the coach a pedophile.

Here are two of the three IX Cases that were filed as a result of this event. I was able to obtain these even though Laura Hall and the University of Florida Division of Student Affairs tried to bury them. The University of Florida denied requests for the other IX filings that resulted from this event and others like it citing Federal FERPA regulations because Logan Mazor is technically a student, even with his public role as president.

University of Florida IX Case - IR2024-06496 (Some information has been redacted to protect individuals)

I am a parent of a student athlete, my son was at UF with his team attending a water polo match Sept 22/23 2024. It was at the Florida Pool. My son is a minor. My son and I both witnessed this altercation as spectators, the following happened after the ******** vs UF Men's A team game. The game was fairly normal and UF won the game, the ******** team was largely minor athletes competing against the college guys. During the hand shake after the game ended one of the UF players (Logan) lunged at one of the athletes on the ******** team, ********. When he lunged at him he very loudly called ******** a pedofile. Loud enough that a decent number of people on deck and both teams heard it. We are all aware that ******** is gay, however, is not a pedofile. Apparently this Logan person has issues with homosexuals. After the initial altercation Coach ******** (of the ******** Team) approached the UF Team and the their leader this Logan guy. Most of the UF mens team heard this altercation and this Logan person brushed it off as he did no wrong. I can tell you my minor son and the members of the ******** Team, and a good deal of the public audience all heard this assault, and it is absolutely not acceptable a team leader to verbally sexually assault members of the other visiting team. My son was considering applying to UF and is now not as he sees the way the UF water polo's leaders represent UF. This is truly a shameful act of sexual assault, misconduct, and harassment. My son and I also do not feel safe coming back to the UF campus for water polo events and wont be. I am writing this anonymously because I do not want my son to face any backlash from the water polo community reporting this assault.

While UF buried these reports, they did remove Logan from his Presidency and all authority. He was allowed to stay on the team and compete as an athlete this year, even competing in the 2025 CWPA Collegiate Club National Championship. Micah Bayle is the new president of the team, and after reaching out to him, he declined to comment on the situation, and referred us to Student Affairs and Recreational Sports. Below is an excerpt from Mr. Bayle after Logan Mazor was fired from his position as President.

The second IX complaint sheds more light on Logan as a person. Here is a closeted gay student athlete at UF that witnessed this encounter and shared their experiences with Logan as President.

University of Florida IX Case - IR2024-06588 (Some information has been redacted to protect individuals)

I am writing this with a heavy heart, and it has taken me a lot of time to come up with the courage to send this. 1st off, I am a closeted gay (at the moment, no one on the team knows about my sexuality); I play water polo for the University of Florida RecSports Men’s Club team. I have been a UF for a while and have seen what’s been going on with my team. The elected president of my team is Logan Mazor. I am fairly sure the elections are rigged, but that is another story. Logan is a homophobic bully dictator. What is worse is the RecSports trash administration backs Logan 100%. He has driven so many people off the team it’s not even funny, and then he blames people leaving on others. He bullies everyone into doing exactly what he wants 100% of the time, if he does not get his way, he makes that person’s life hell and he is very vindictive. He makes homophobic slurs, and let’s just put it this way: he has made his objections to gay males known. I am in fear every day that someone or he will find out my secret, and yes, I know there are other gay guys on the team. Please reach out to former students ******** at ******** and ******** (Openly Gay) at ******** about their experiences with Logan bullying them. Both are now UF alumni and not around anymoreI think they will talk openly.

Back to why I am writing, a couple of weekends ago, the women’s team hosted some games at the FL Pool on campus, it was called the Sunshine Classic. We put in a team, along with a bunch of other teams from around Florida, some with U18 players. I guess this is what pushed me over the edge to write. We played a team from Orlando, ********. It was mostly a bunch of under 18 year old kids on that team, and we beat them in the game. When we were shaking their hands after, Logan made like he was going to hit this guy and then called him Pedofile loud enough that a bunch of people heard it, including people on our team, theirs, and parents in the stands. I know the guy he called this to, and he is also a gay. I am so embarrassed to be a Gator, my team for not standing up sooner against Logan and his antics and RecSports. I am so afraid for my safety with Logan at UF, anyway, something had to be said, but hey im just a fag right. Hopefully, others will come forward and speak out against his nastyness but I dont know what we all stand for anymore. Go Gators?

One female student reported that Logan is himself Bi-Sexual and an extremely self hating closet case. In her opinion this is the driver for Logan’s behaviors towards homosexuals.

From interviews with several former student athletes at the University of Florida, this type of behavior is not only accepted but encouraged by the Director of RecSports in Student Affairs at the University of Florida Laura Hall. We reached out to Ms Hall for comment and she declined to speak with us. Sources from inside of Student Affairs and RecSports we spoke with have confirmed that she protects him and even appointing him to a few committees, even after several IX sexual harassment complaints had been made against him. Even evident by the fact that after she fired him from his presidential position she still allowed him to continue to be a part of the UF Men’s team in 2025, allowing Mazor to continue harassing other student athletes, alum, and visitors at UF.

Reports were also sent to the US Center for SafeSport. It is unclear how many people reported Mazor’s behaviors to SafeSport.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport has exclusive jurisdiction over abuse and misconduct allegations within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement. This includes the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), National Governing Bodies (NGBs), and their affiliated local/regional organizations, covering athletes, coaches, staff, and volunteers.

After the US Center for SafeSport’s investigation completed they issued a Restraining Order (non-contact) against Logan Mazor the (Respondent). He continues to not be allowed to have contact with the victim in this case.

Despite being removed from his leadership role, Mazor reportedly remained eligible to participate with the UF Men’s Water Polo Club in subsequent seasons with zero consequences for his behaviors and bigotry. Even with a non-contact order against him from the US Center for SafeSport. We argue that this response reflects broader accountability failures within UF Student Affairs, particularly in light of previous Title IX controversies involving the university.

After the Todd Golden UF IX Office nonsense, what is really going on over at UF and who is being held accountable for their wrong doings. As long as they allow people like Logan Mazor and Laura Hall to remain at UF, it will remain a bigoted homophobic environment not safe for homosexuals students and athletes.

If you have a story that has been buried and needs to be told, please reach out to me. I investigate hidden stories about crimes / injustices / and hate that gets conveniently buried by powerful people and organizations.
