NEW YORK, NY.- When the clock finally ran out of time after a week of bidding, One Goal: An Auction To Benefit The Fifa Global Citizen Education Fund produced a statement win: All 27 lots sold for $652,630, a sum more than eight times the initial low estimate of what the sale would make. Fans from 24 nations in every region of the globe participated in intense online bidding that produced some big results. The two top lots of the sale both made $110,000. One of these was a ball used in the World Cup Final game at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford N.J, which saw Spain take the title against Argentina 1-0. The other top lot was part of a story followed avidly by social media and the press while bidding was ongoing: The competition for articles of clothing worn by the K-Pop phenomenon, BTS, during their iconic performance at the first-ever FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final Topps Halftime Show. In the end, it was a shirt worn by Jimin of BTS during that show that went for $110,000, which was almost 37 times its low estimate. Proceeds from the sale will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and sports for children in underserved communities, supporting grassroots organizations worldwide.

The President of Christie's America's, Julien Pradels, said, “This is a wonderful win for an important cause. Competition in our auction was as global and fierce as it was on the World Cup soccer pitch. Today we can all celebrate having supported The Fifa Global Citizen Education Fund and the children it lifts up.”

Description of image

The sale of FIFA World Cup 2026™ and FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final Halftime Show memorabilia commenced less than one month after Christie's set the record for the biggest memorabilia auction in history with the sale of the collection of the late philanthropist and NFL owner, Jim Irsay. Over five Irsay auctions, Christie's sold 404 lots, set almost 30 world records, and the collection sold for a total of $105.3 million.
