NEW YORK, NY.- Sargents Daughters announced the appointment of Christine Nyce as Director and Nikki Myers as Gallery Associate.
"I am delighted to welcome Christine and Nikki in their new roles at the gallery," says Founder Allegra LaViola. "It is a great gift to work with a team that grows together as the gallery embraces this new chapter."
Christine Nyce is a curator, arts administrator, and writer, who joined Sargent's Daughters in 2021 and has supported the gallery through its growth over the past five years. She has worked to expand the gallery's roster of artists, produced critical and didactic writing about their practices, shepherded major institutional acquisitions, and developed and executed diverse exhibitions.
Nyce graduated with a MA in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College in 2021 and holds a BA in Art History from Williams College. She has collaborated on curatorial projects at the Milwaukee Art Museum (Milwaukee, WI), the Experimental Media and Performing Art Center (Troy, NY), Artists Space (New York, NY), and the Hessel Museum at Bard College (Annandale-on-Hudson, NY).
Nikki Myers holds an M.A. in History of Design and Curatorial Studies from Parsons School of Design and a B.A. from NYU Gallatin, where her research focused on Latin American women artists in U.S. visual culture and the role of art in social change. Her curatorial and research interests focus primarily on the work of contemporary Latinx, queer, and women artists.
Prior to joining Sargents Daughters in 2025, Nikki worked with institutions including The Latinx Project at NYU, the Guggenheim Museum, Cooper Hewitt, and the NYC Commission on Human Rights. Alongside her gallery work, she has written for publications such as Intervenxions and has curated exhibitions at the Bronx River Art Center and Brooklyn Art Haus.
