LINCOLN, NEBRASKA.- The Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery presents “Sculptors on Paper,” on view through August 1, 2007. Sculptors on Paper features more than 30 works on paper by American sculptors. These artworks have served as studies, explorations of media and a convenient way to convey ideas. For centuries sculptors have made drawings, watercolors and prints in tandem with their works in three dimensions. Among the artists represented with significant works are Robert Arneson, Robert Baskin, Louise Bourgeois, Mark di Suvero, Jun Kaneko, Martin Puryear, Richard Serra, Judith Shea, and David Smith.

Visitors are encouraged to compare these compositions with sculptures on view in the museum or on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. For a podcast tour of outdoor sculptures on campus click here: Outdoor Sculpture Tour

Tours of Sculptors on Paper and selected outdoor sculptors will be offered before each Jazz in June concert at 6 p.m. in the Great Hall. For more information about Jazz in June, click here: Jazz in June. The exhibition is made possible by generous donations from the Nebraska Art Association and Ann K. Rawley.
