BATH.- Following a major recruitment campaign, Bath Preservation Trust (BPT) has appointed Spencer Hancock as its first Chief Operating Officer. Spencer will be joining the charity in early September to take up this new role.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior team, Spencer will provide operational leadership across BPT’s museums, ensuring an excellent visitor experience and overseeing day-to-day operations, facilities, commercial development, events and marketing. BPT runs four well-known museums in the World Heritage city of Bath, including No. 1 Royal Crescent, Beckford’s Tower and Museum, the Herschel Museum of Astronomy and the Museum of Bath Architecture. This new role has been created to ensure they continue to thrive and to grow.

Spencer is well known in Bath having been the Head of Visitor Experience and Commercial at the Holburne Museum for many years. He is also involved with Bath Arts Collective and the brilliant Curious Minds Festival.

BPT was pleased to work with Rebekah Herz-Bauman and her team at Gatenby Sanderson, who led the recruitment process, advertising the role nationally and attracting significant interest.
