ORLANDO, FLA.- The Mennello Museum of Art welcomes Abigail Baeza as Associate Curator of Art and Education, who will work with the team to help advance access to American art and its multiple narratives through curatorial research, exhibition-making, and new perspectives on American art history, our collection initiatives, and public engagement.
Abigail joined the museum this summer and holds an M.A.R. (Master of Arts in Religion) from Yale Divinity School with a concentration in religion and visual art. Before Yale, she earned a B.A. with Honors in Art History from Stanford University. In 2024, she curated Color Deceives: Le Corbusier & Josef Albers, an exhibition spotlighting special collections items in Stanford’s Bowes Art & Architecture Library. She also supported curatorial projects at the Dizesanmuseum Freising in Germany and at Bridge Projects, a contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles.
As a scholar and curator, Abigail is interested in modern and contemporary American art with particular attention to its intersection with religion and spirituality. Abigail joined the museum in June and shares: “I am excited to engage with the Orlando community as the Mennello Museum’s new Associate Curator through thought-provoking projects that reflect the complexities of the American experience.”
