STOCKHOLM.- C閐ric Fauq has been appointed Curator of Contemporary International Art at Moderna Museet and will assume his position on December 1, 2026. He is currently Chief Curator and Head of Programmes and Collections at Capc Mus閑 d’art contemporain de Bordeaux. Previously, he held curatorial positions at Palais de Tokyo and Nottingham Contemporary.

His experience, curiosity, and engagement with key artistic questions of our time will be a true asset as we build a new vision for the museum."

C閐ric Fauq was born in 1992 in France and holds an MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art, London.

His recent projects at the Capc Mus閑 d’art contemporain de Bordeaux include the group exhibition Blackground : murmures des mornes (curated with S. Mochtari), the retrospective Rammellzee Alphabeta Sigma (Side B) (curated with Hugo Vitrani) and Trevor Yeung’s commissioned work Garden of the Nine Suns.

In parallel, he has pursued independent projects and recently worked with Matthieu Laurette on his retrospective exhibition at the Mus閑 d’art contemporain du Val-de-Marne. He teaches at HEAD in Geneva and at Universit Paris 1 Panth閛n-Sorbonne. He also served as a member of the Turner Prize jury in 2023.

Moderna Museet, ArkDes (The Swedish Centre for Art and Design) and the Public Art Agency Sweden are merging into a new institution. Here art, public art, architecture, and design will come together through exhibitions, collections, and public programme, with international outreach and relevance. The new institution is led by Moderna Museet’s Director Tone Hansen.
