DENVER, PA.- A rare and important Bvlgari Serpenti Jaeger-LeCoultre 18K gold diamond bracelet with a secret watch slipped onto a new wrist for $177,600, and a dazzling Oscar Heyman orange and yellow fancy-color diamond necklace found a new owner for $132,000 at Morphy’s Fine Jewelry & Watches Auction held September 24. The 632-lot auction totaled more than $1.8 million.

The Bvlgari Serpenti Jaeger-LeCoultre flexible three-coil diamond and ruby bangle bracelet in 18K yellow and white gold featured 341 natural colorless diamonds (327 round and 14 pear) with an estimated total weight of 10.00cts, as well as two round cabochon ruby eyes. The snake's head on the bracelet hinged open at the mouth to reveal a hidden watch, to the delight of surprised bidders. The selling price of $177,600 was within estimate, and made the bracelet the sale’s top-selling lot.

The 18K yellow gold and platinum Oscar Heyman natural fancy-color diamond necklace with original black velvet Oscar Heyman presentation box and invoice was comprised of 95 cut-corner square diamonds with a total weight of 13.47cts, 21 princess-cut diamonds weighing 2.60cts, 36 square diamonds with a total weight of 2.93cts, and 571 assorted shaped fancy-color diamonds. Overall, the necklace had a total of 850 diamonds with a combined weight of at least 180.15cts.

A beautiful platinum graduated natural diamond statement necklace with a total weight of 57.58ctw, accompanied by a GGA appraisal report with an ERRV of $372,580, 17½ inches in length, was marked “PT900.” A savvy bidder snapped it up for $66,000, which was within the estimate range.

A Patek Philippe 39mm quartz Aquanaut Luce wristwatch, Reference 5267/200A-011, in stainless steel with a diamond bezel and green khaki varnished dial with date aperture and applied white gold numerals, sold within the pre-sale estimate for $54,120. The watch was new, in unworn condition, and was fitted on its original uncut green composite strap with a stickered fold-over clasp. Its 48 round brilliant-cut near-colorless natural diamonds had a total weight of 1.17cts.

A 14K yellow gold multi-color sapphire (135.42ctw) and diamond (2.02ctw) statement necklace, accompanied by an original GIA sapphire report and an AIGL appraisal report with an ERRV of $396,900, brought $52,800, about what was expected. The 17-inch necklace was marked “14K.”

A Rolex Oyster Perpetual 40mm Cosmograph Daytona men’s wristwatch, Reference M116515LN-0002, in solid 18K Everose gold with black ceramic Cerachrom bezel and chocolate brown dial, changed hands for the within-estimate price of $31,200. The watch, Serial #373WL595, featured a rose gold folding Oysterlock clasp on an original black stitched alligator strap, the original serialized warranty card, a serialized hang tag, a circular green hang tag, booklets with holder, and Rolex box.

An 18K white and yellow gold fancy yellow diamond (3.21ct) and diamond (0.83ctw) ring, accompanied by a GIA natural color diamond report copy and a GGA appraisal report with an ERRV of $125,390, topped out at $31,200. The ring was marked “750” and the ring size was 6¼.

A 18K white gold and platinum David Webb designer emerald, ruby and diamond bracelet, with a total of 56 round brilliant cut near-colorless natural diamonds, each measuring about 3mm in diameter, with an estimated total weight of 6.00cts, reached its high estimate of $30,000. The 7½-inch-long bracelet weighed 93.9 grams and was marked "DAVID WEBB, NA74, 18K 950PT.”

Rounding out this short list of top earners is an antique platinum Art Deco diamond bracelet having three bezel-set central old European round-cut diamonds, each one 6.5mm in diameter, along with another 416 round-cut diamonds and 24 straight baguette-cut diamonds. The estimated diamond total weight was 30.00cts and the length was 7 inches, clasped. The bracelet commanded $26,400.
