DALLAS, TX.- A Tiffany Studios Pony Wisteria table lamp leads Heritage's Nov. 11 Early 20th Century Design Signature® Auction, a 230-lot offering distinguished by the most important property and highest pre-auction estimates in the category's history at Heritage.

With outstanding Tiffany lamps and a luminous figural window, a particularly strong selection of René Lalique and an exceptional group of Loetz glass, the auction marks a new high point for a department whose growth has made Heritage a leading destination for collectors of art glass.

"The growth of our Design department has brought us to an extraordinary moment," says Samantha Robinson, Heritage's Vice President of Design. "Collectors increasingly turn to Heritage both to acquire exceptional glass and to entrust us with their collections, and that confidence is reflected in the quality of this sale. By a considerable margin, this is the strongest Early 20th Century Design auction we have ever assembled. Across Tiffany, Lalique and Loetz, we are offering the kind of material that makes collectors take notice."

Dating to circa 1910, the Pony Wisteria table lamp translates cascading blossoms into leaded glass supported by patinated bronze. At 17 inches tall, it brings one of Tiffany Studios' most beloved natural motifs to an intimate scale. The lamp comes from a private Michigan collection.

Another Tiffany highlight from the same collection is the Drophead Dragonfly table lamp, circa 1910. Standing more than 33 inches tall, with a shade measuring 22 inches across, it offers a dramatic counterpoint to the smaller Pony Wisteria, pairing another celebrated Tiffany motif with an imposing presence.

Tiffany's artistry takes architectural form in Springtime, a leaded-glass window dating to circa 1920 and signed L.C. Tiffany N.Y. A barefoot woman in flowing pale drapery moves through blue and violet irises, with warm light gathering behind her against a sky of deep blue and muted gold. Varied glass gives the composition its painterly richness, allowing the scene to change with the light passing through it. Although its original setting is unknown, the window's moderate size and subject suggest it may have been commissioned for a domestic interior.

The auction also presents Heritage's finest group of Lalique in years, highlighted by René Lalique's Yeso surtout, circa 1930, in clear and frosted glass with metal.

"This is the strongest selection of Lalique we have offered in a long time, and it deserves the attention of serious collectors," says Nicholas Dawes, Heritage's Senior Vice President of Special Collections. "The Yeso surtout is a wonderful centerpiece for the group, bringing together the clarity, texture and sculptural presence that make Lalique's glass so compelling."

An exceptional Loetz selection includes a mounted Phaenomen (Gre 413) bowl by Jutta Sika for Loetz, circa 1900. Combining glass and brass, the work comes with provenance that includes a private Austrian collection and Galerie bei der Albertina Zetter in Vienna.

Beyond glass, a five-volume Les Maîtres de l'Affiche, dated 1896–1900, brings the visual excitement of Belle Époque advertising into the auction. Published by Imprimerie Chaix in Paris, the volumes contain plates 1–240, including illustrations by Alphonse Mucha, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Jules Chéret. Together, they preserve the inventive color and graphic language that transformed commercial posters into enduring collectors' works.

Sculpture highlights include Joseph Csáky's Tête de Femme, conceived in 1924 and cast in 1983. The silvered and gilt bronze is numbered seven from an edition of eight.

The Nov. 11 auction opens two consecutive days of major Design offerings at Heritage. The following day's Modern Design Auction likewise presents the strongest offering in its category in Heritage history, with its most important property and highest pre-auction estimates to date.
