From October 23 to 25, 2026, the 39th edition of Art Shopping returned to the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, bringing together a dynamic international community of artists, galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts. Over the course of three days, the fair welcomed more than 20,000 visitors and featured over 150 artists and galleries representing more than 50 countries, reinforcing its longstanding role as an international platform for contemporary art.

Few exhibition settings carry the cultural resonance of the Carrousel du Louvre. Situated beneath one of the world’s most recognized cultural landmarks, the venue places contemporary artistic practice in direct dialogue with the history and global significance of the Louvre. For the artists and designers participating in the 39th edition of Art Shopping, exhibiting in this setting offered more than international visibility; it provided an opportunity to present their work within one of Paris’s most prominent cultural environments and to engage with audiences from around the world.

Since its establishment, Art Shopping has pursued a clear mission: to make original contemporary art more accessible while creating opportunities for emerging and established artists to reach new audiences. Across 39 editions, the fair has connected thousands of artists with collectors, galleries, cultural professionals, and members of the public, fostering exchange across disciplines, cultures, and creative perspectives.

The 2026 autumn edition continued this international tradition, bringing together participants from more than 50 countries and regions, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Italy, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Japan, South Korea, India, Turkey, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Romania, Argentina, and China. This breadth of participation transformed the Carrousel du Louvre into a meeting point for diverse artistic voices, offering visitors a broad view of contemporary creative practices from across the globe.

“My mission is to organize ART SHOPPING from A to Z, including the selection of national and international artists.”

— Aurélie Le Moigne Maufroy, Director of Operations, Art Shopping

Among the participants, 11 selected artists and designers, chosen through a jury review process, presented their works at booths E41 and B64. Spanning architecture, immersive and augmented-reality experiences, digital media, generative visualization, ceramics, material experimentation, and conceptual design, their works explored themes ranging from memory and identity to technology, human experience, and the evolving relationship between the physical and digital worlds.

Participating artists include: Fu Ye (A Place to Begin Again), Cen Shen (Lost and Found), Jinjin Du (The Touch of Spring), Karen (Rui) Kang (Somo), Taylor Xinyu Li (Source ID), Hanzheng Wang (Magic Dots), Wenjuan Zhou (Where Stories Take Us), Ziwei Deng (Living Pulse — Generative Biometric Visuals from Attune), Zui Chen (Ceramic Lookbook), Liuqingqing Yang (As Memory Fades, Care Remains), and Zhongqi Fu (Porcelain Memory).

Taken together, these works reflected a broader evolution in contemporary art—one shaped less by geographic boundaries than by the ideas, technologies, and experiences artists bring into conversation. Moving across architecture, immersive media, artificial intelligence, material experimentation, memory, and emotional experience, the participating artists approached contemporary questions through distinctly individual practices. Rather than presenting culture as something to be explained or translated, their works entered the international arena with confidence, allowing their ideas and artistic languages to speak on their own terms.

Within the Carrousel du Louvre, these diverse practices converged in a shared contemporary context. Collectors, curators, art professionals, and visitors encountered works not simply through the lens of where their creators came from, but through the questions they raised: how memory is preserved, how technology reshapes human experience, how materials acquire new meanings, and how personal narratives can resonate beyond their place of origin.

What emerged was not a presentation of cultural difference, but an exchange of perspectives. Across disciplines and backgrounds, the works created connections between the personal and the universal, the physical and the digital, and the inherited and the imagined. In this setting, artistic identity was not confined by geography. It became part of a wider global conversation—one defined by presence, experimentation, and the ability of contemporary art to create meaning across cultures.
