PARIS, FRANCE.- Galerie Sevigne presents Px3 2007 World Premiere Exhibition in Paris. The premiere exhibition of Px3's winning work will be held on June 29th. It will be attended by the who's who of Paris, artists and press alike. The gallery regularly presents budding and established international artists who employ innovative techniques and raise questions about contemporary society.
It took 17 jury members 60 to choose 25 images from over 8,000 high-quality entries. The top 25 images will be displayed at the exhibition. Entries were judged by category: Advertising, Photojournalism, Book, Fine Art, Nature, and Portraiture, all which contain various sub-categories.
Px3, Prix de la Photographie Paris, strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.
The winner of the most coveted public recognition, the Px3 Photographer of the Year, is professional photographer Alex Telfer from the United Kingdom. Telfer is being recognized for the overall quality of his entries in several categories, in particular his "Nikon" series.
The recipient of the Best New Talent Award is Todd Krainin from California for his series titled, "Nepal 2006: Civil War in Shangri-La." Krainin says, "Px3 is the first organization to recognize the work I did in Asia.... After several months of running from tear gas and water cannons, it's rewarding to know that someone out there besides myself thinks that it was all worth it."
