India and Beyond in Books, Manuscripts and Photography

LONDON.-Following the success of last year’s sale, Bonham’s announced a similar forthcoming auction this autumn. This year, the focus will be somewhat wider, incorporating subject matter beyond the Indian subcontinent, and stretching towards the Far East.

Highlights will include: a fine collection of 20 botanical watercolours possibly executed in India, c.1805 (estimate £20,000 – 30,000); James Hunter’s Picturesque Scenery in the Kingdom of Mysore, 1805 (estimate £3,000 – 5,000); an album of Willoughby Wallace Hooper photographs, including native portraits and views in Hyderabad, 1870s (estimate £2,000 – 4,000).
