SAN JOSE, CA.- From August 24 – November 2, 2007, the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art ( ICA ) will showcase Liten Gygr in the gallery’s 560 South First Street window. Liten Gygr is part of the ICA ’s “Night Moves” installation series, an innovative program that gives the ICA a nighttime presence and animates the downtown cultural landscape by showcasing after-dark programming in the gallery’s windows.

Liten Gygr tells the strange and imaginative story of the last giantess and her misadventures with a lovesick god, a mango and a unicorn. Living in her dead grandmother’s farm in a forgotten corner of the Midwest , the little giantess is on the verge of extinction. These odd characters inhabit a place of make-believe made frame-by-frame by stop-animation artist, Keturah Cummings. With vibrant color, craftily made environments and inventive use of paper, food and toys, Liten Gygr verges between a sugar-induced fairy tale and a threatening world.
