EDINBURGH.-The City Art Centre, in collaboration with the Fleming Collection in London and Edinburgh College of Art (eca), presents Ten Decades, a retrospective journey through works of esteemed eca alumni & academics, from the past 100 years to the present day, as part of the Colleges Centenary Year celebrations.
Artists to be featured include Dame Elizabeth Blackadder OBE, RA; John Bellany CBE, RA; Sir William Gillies, Sir Robin Philipson, Moyna Flannigan, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Callum Innes, Anne Redpath, and many more.
Founded in 1907, but with a history dating back to the 18th century, eca has consistently produced acclaimed artists of international standing and is now home to 1,600 full-time students studying a wide portfolio of art and design subjects, including architecture, from undergraduate to PhD level.
Spanning three gallery floors, the works will be drawn from the Citys Collection, The Fleming Collection, the Colleges own holdings, and individual artists. The exhibition will transfer to the Fleming Gallery in London in January.
