AUSTIN, TX.- The Austin Museum of Art (AMOA) is proud to once again host the Holiday Art Festival on the beautiful, historic grounds of AMOA-Laguna Gloria. This year’s festival will feature 65 regional artists selling high- quality works in a wide range of media including ceramics, wood, painting, fiber, sculpture, photography, jewelry, glass, and prints, as well as special items from the Museum Store. Refreshments are available for sale and visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll through the luscious 12-acre site.
This year’s festival also includes several new features that exude fun for the entire family. Enjoy the children’s creation stations, win door prizes, acquire artistic treasures from the silent auction, learn a craft through artist demonstrations, and give the gift of knowledge with our Art Book Swap! Silent auction artists that will be featured are Laurel Daniel, Lance Letscher, Bonnie Lynch, Margorie Moore, and
Sydney Yeager.
The Holiday Art Festival raises funds for the Austin Museum of Art. Admission costs are only $5 for the general public and admission is free for Friends of Laguna Gloria and children under 12. The festival provides the perfect opportunity to give visitors a taste of Austin culture and a view of the beautiful historic site that has been declared a national treasure. Art enthusiasts can also enjoy the latest AMOA-Laguna Gloria exhibition, Laguna Gloria Grounded.
Laguna Gloria Grounded pays reverence to Clara Driscoll's vision for this lush 12-acre historical treasure. The picturesque gardens and wild places serve as inspiration for the ten local artists’ showcased works. Many of the artists also taught Art School students to express their own artistic impulses enlivened by this glorious venue. This modest exhibition celebrates the grounds and revitalized historic gardens of Laguna Gloria with two-dimensional and three-dimensional works installed inside the Villa.
