JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Jersey City Museum presents ArtJAMS/Lucky Seven w/ NJCU on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 7pm. Jersey City Museum Curator Rocio Aranda will host the night of art and conversation with a group of students and alumni from New Jersey City University's art department. This program jams the work of seven artists, for seven minutes each into a program of short art talks that starts at 7pm. The goal is to show great new works straight from the artist's studio at a lively pace. The artists being featured include Rebecca Feranec, Jonathan Glick, Lisa Halpern, Matthew Lahm, Joan Pamboukes, Delmira Valladares and Kyle Shelton. These artists work locally in various mediums including photography, illustration and media. Two of the artists featured, Jonathan Glick and Rebecca Feranec, are showing pieces in the museum’s upcoming SPRAWL exhibition, which will open on March 20, 2008.

ArtJAMS/Lucky Seven is a program designed by Jersey City Museum to showcase emerging talent as well as serve as a place of networking for both artists and art enthusiasts.

Target Thursdays Series is generously underwritten by the Target Corporation. Founded in 1901, the Jersey City Museum is the major presenter of contemporary art serving the people of Jersey City, Hudson County and the region. The museum organizes many group and solo exhibitions every year, featuring works by culturally diverse, contemporary artists and from its 10,000-piece collection of regional significant art and historical objects. Through exhibitions, educational initiatives and programs, the museum welcomes over 25,000 visitors each year, including 11,000 school-aged children and youth.
