Cheekwood Wins Awards From American Association of Museums

NASHVILLE.- Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art was recently selected as a winner of the 2008 Museum Publications Design Competition by the American Association of Museums (AAM). The annual AAM Museum Publications Design Competition acknowledges excellence in the graphic design of museum publications and Cheekwood was judged within the category of institutions across the country with budgets greater than $750,000.

The judges awarded Cheekwood an Honorable Mention in the Newsletters category for the quarterly newsletter, Inspire. They also awarded an Honorable Mention in the Invitations to Events category for the Fabergé exclusive preview party invitation at Cheekwood. Both pieces were designed by Delevante Creative in Nashville.

Cheekwood also won three ADDY awards in the Nashville competition. The ADDY Awards is the world's largest advertising competition with over 50,000 entries annually and recognize creative excellence in all forms of advertising from media of all types and creative by agencies of all sizes. Cheekwood’s Once Upon a Garden, Fabergé, and Scarecrows campaigns were all awarded silver ADDYs in the Advertising for the arts and sciences category. All three campaigns were designed by Delevante Creative.

The Tennessee Association of Museums also recognized Cheekwood recently with four Awards of Excellence for: Tales and Tunes (Programming), Music City Picks (Temporary Exhibition), The Ewers-Tyne Collection of Porcelain (Catalogue), Once Upon a Garden (Publication – Posters), and a Commendation for our Quarterly newsletter, Inspire.

“It is an honor and privilege for Cheekwood to be recognized on such an esteemed level,” said Jack Becker, Cheekwood’s President/CEO. “Winning these awards, along with this year’s ADDY and TAM awards is evidence of how our team addresses marketing campaigns with exceptional creative that ensures greater visibility for Cheekwood.”
