FARGO, ND.- At the May 27 annual meeting, Sally McCravey of Oxbow, N.D. was elected chairperson of
Plains Art Museums board of directors. McCravey is currently a realtor at Coldwell Banker First Realty. She has served as the Museums vice-chairperson and as the Annual Spring Gala chair. She has been active in leadership positions with Special Olympics of North Dakota, United Way of Cass Clay, Habitat for Humanity and Festival of Wreaths. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.
Julie Burgum of Casselton, N.D. was elected vice-president. Burgum has served on the Board of Directors since 2006. She has been an active member of Rural Leadership ND council, Casselton Heritage Center Board, NDSU College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Board and NDSU BisonArts Board. Carole Kline of Fargo was re-elected board secretary for a 2ndterm. Stacie Heiden of Fargo continues as treasurer.
The board also recently elected Tom Dawson, Bill Schlossman and Meg Spielman Peldo, all of Fargo. Dawson is president of Dawson Insurance. He was past president of the North Dakota Association of Independent Agents and is currently the State National director from North Dakota for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.
Schlossman is a lawyer at Vogel Law Firm. He is the former chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Fargo Moorhead and former president of the Village Family Service Foundation. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Spielman-Peldo owns Meg Spielman Studio and Gallery in downtown Fargo. She is currently president of the FM Visual Artists Association. She served seven years on the Fargo Board of Education and five years on the Trollwood Performing Arts School Advisory Council.
Other board members are Michael Olsen, past chairperson; Susie Freeman, Kate Haugen, Willy Jacobson, Andrea S. Jenson, Arlette Preston and Dennis Walaker of Fargo; and John Beecher and Zhimin Guan of Moorhead, Minn. Colleen J. Sheehy is director and CEO of the Museum.
