50’s-Style Sock Hop Featuring The Coasters

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND.- Artists and buyers attending the February Buyers Market of American Craft will have the unique opportunity to dance to the tunes of The Coasters on Saturday, February 15. The Coasters are the feature performers for a free, 50’s-style sock hop hosted by the Buyers Market of American Craft.

The Coasters emerged at the beginning of the rock and roll era in the 1950’s as a rhythm and blues group with hits like Smokey Joe’s Café, Yakety Yak and Poison Ivy.

The sock hop begins at 8 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available. This free event provides artists and buyers the opportunity to network and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere. For more information call 800.432.7238 or visit www.americancraft.com.

The Buyers Market of American Craft is a wholesale craft show held biannually at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Nearly 2,000 American and Canadian artists display new designs in wood, ceramics, jewelry, mixed media, kaleidoscopes, decorative and wearable fiber, metal and glass. More than 5,000 buyers attend representing small craft stores, boutiques, galleries, museum gift shops, department stores and mail order catalogues from throughout the United States.

The Buyers Market of American Craft is produced by The Rosen Group, an arts marketing and publishing firm based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Rosen Group publishes NICHE magazine, the exclusive trade publication for retailers of fine craft art, and AmericanStyle magazine, the arts and lifestyle magazine for collectors of fine American craft.
