‘Brueghel Enterprises’ To Open In Brussels |
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM.- The exhibition “Brueghel Enterprises” opens tomorrow at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. This Exhibition presents an original approach to the problem of Pieter Brueghel the Younger and his studio. Brueghel and his assistants are well known for having made an abundant amount of copies after the works of the famous painter. For the first time, different versions of the same composition will be reunited, studied and analyzed with state of the art lab methods. How did Brueghel the Younger and his studio proceed? What sort of prototypes where instrumental in this? For whom did they paint? These are some of the questions for which answers will be sought after in the exhibition as well as in the catalogue that goes with it.
