SAINT LOUIS, MO.- The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis formally announces Mr. David H. Hoffmann as the Contemporarys new Chair of its Board of Directors. Hoffmann was elected by the Board of Directors in June and he will begin his two-year term in July 2009. He assumes the office formerly held by John Ferring, President of Plaze Inc.
We are excited to have David in this position as Board Chair, said Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis Director Paul Ha. He brings with him years of leadership experience and has a true passion for the arts and supporting organizations like the Contemporary.
Hoffmann comes to the Contemporary at a time when it has adopted a new strategic plan which has rearticulated the museums mission to be: The Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis promotes meaningful engagement with the most relevant and innovative art being made today.
David Hoffmann is the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of DHR International. Hoffmann began DHR after acquiring the assets of Boyden Internationals Chicago and Upper Montclair, New Jersey locations. The company has more than 50 office locations throughout the world and is known as the fastest growing and most innovative firm in the industry. Previous positions include Senior Vice President and Managing Partner, Midwest Operations, of Boyden International where he also served as a senior member of the firms Financial Committee and then remained Boydens top consultant for four consecutive years; Vice President and Partner of Korn/Ferry International; and other Corporate Director positions.
In addition to the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Hoffmann is involved in numerous philanthropic organizations including the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, The Steppenwolf board, the Northwestern Hospital Foundation. He is a Northwestern University Associate and a past Governing Member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He serves on the Board of Directors of the following organizations: Olin School of Business National Council at Washington University in St. Louis, MO; Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Foundation, Chicago, IL; The Regional Business Council, St. Louis, MO; DHR International, St. Louis, MO; JobPlex, Inc., Chicago, IL; Osprey Capital, Chicago, IL; Edgewood Holdings, Inc., St. Louis, MO; St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association (RCGA), St. Louis, MO; Variety the Childrens Charity, St. Louis, MO; and St. Louis Priory School, St. Louis, MO.
He is involved in professional organizations including The Economic Club, Executives Club and Chicago Club and he has done volunteer work in little league, hockey, soccer, baseball, football, and softball.

As the new Chair of the Board of Directors, Hoffmann will preside at all Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings. He will appoint and oversee committee chairs; be the primary Board fund-raiser; head the annual evaluation of the Director; and be a spokesperson for the Contemporary.
The Contemporarys Board of Directors has 36 members and holds six meetings per year at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis.
