MONTCLAIR, NJ.- At its June 17 meeting, the Board of Trustees of the Montclair Art Museum (MAM) named seven new members. Their terms began July 1.

Special thanks were given to the following departing Board members for their years of service and dedication to the Museum: Mort David, Susan DiMarco, and Cassie Wait, all from Montclair.

MAM welcomes the following individuals to the Board of Trustees:

Susan Cole
Dr. Susan A. Cole assumed office in September of 1998 as the eighth president of Montclair State University, the second largest university in New Jersey with 17,475 graduate and undergraduate students. Previously, she served as president of Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, from 1993 to 1998 and as vice president for university administration and Personnel at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey from 1980 to 1991, among other academic positions. Dr. Cole currently serves on the boards of the Liberty Science Center, the American Council on Education, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Council of Trustees and has served on the boards of Mountainside Hospital and the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. She has also served on a number of NJ State task forces and on a wide variety of Boards. Dr. Cole earned three degrees in English and American literature: a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University. Dr. Cole writes and speaks extensively about current issues in American higher education. She lives in Montclair.

Marilyn Dore
Marilyn Dore served as a trustee of the Museum from 1994–2007. A lawyer by profession, Dore has a B.A. from Smith College, an M.S. from Columbia University’s School of Library Science, and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law. She served on the Board of Aljira, A Center for Contemporary Art in Newark. She collects Latin American Art. She and her husband, Michael, reside in Montclair and Naples, Florida.

Marilyn Greene
Marilyn Greene is the former assistant director of the J. Cacciola Gallery in New York. She has a B.A. from New York University and an M.A. in media studies from the New School University. She previously worked at the Jewish Museum in New York to establish the National Jewish Archive of Broadcasting. Her volunteer affiliations include the Art Committee of the National Council of Jewish Women, the chairman of the Art Committee of Temple B’nai Jeshrun, the Gala Committee of the New York Drama League, and board member of ICI (Independent Curators International). She and her husband reside in New York City and are art collectors, concentrating on Native American art, as well as contemporary American art and photography.

Frazael Harris
Commencing her career as a classroom teacher in 1969, Frazael Harris has over 36 years of experience in education. She holds a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from New Jersey City University and for the past 15 years has provided guidance to students, parents, and staff for the Orange Board of Education. In addition Harris holds NJ certifications in art education K-12, elementary education, and student personnel services, and she has completed the required course for Substance Awareness Coordinator. Harris is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, has served as a board member of the Arts Council of Essex Area, and participated in the National Urban League Guild. She helped to create the Susan Satterwhite Harris Scholarship fund in memory of her mother-in-law, at Union Baptist Church in Montclair. Frazeal has had a long association with the Montclair Art Museum, where her husband, Nathaniel C. Harris, Jr. (deceased), served as trustee, president, and president emeritus. She lives in Montclair.

Fred Langbein
A Trustee at the Montclair Art Museum from 2001 to 2008, Fred Langbein now returns to the Board. He joined Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy LLP as chief operating officer in February 2007. He previously held the position of executive director of Brown, Raysman, Millstein, Felder & Steiner LLP and before that served as executive director of Mendes & Mount LLP, and as chief financial officer for Cozen O’Connor, PC. Langbein also spent seven years as the chief financial and administrative officer for Christie’s Inc. Langbein received a B.A. in economics from Georgetown University and an MBA in finance from the Kogod School of Business at American University. He is currently on the Board of the Montclair Foundation and has volunteered with many Montclair-based nonprofit organizations, including St. James Episcopal Church, Mountainside Hospital, and Hospice, Inc. Langbein resides in Montclair with his wife, Joanne, and their two sons.

Sengal Selassie
Sengal Selassie is a co-founder of Cowen Capital Partners and has been group head since its inception in 2006. He began his career in banking with Goldman Sachs & Co. Selassie earned his M.B.A. and J.D. from Harvard University and has an A.B. in economics from Harvard College. He sits on the Board of Directors of a number of private companies. Selassie lives in Montclair with his wife, Lynn, and their two children.

William Turner
The former president of PNC Bank, New Jersey, William Turner currently serves on the Board of the International College of Beirut, as chairman of Mountainside Hospital, as member of the Executive Committee of Atlantic Health System, and as secretary of the Paterson Economic Development Corp. Turner is a former Montclair councilman. He and his wife, Judy, reside in Montclair.
