PORTRAITS IN OIL: PAINTING A HEAD FROM LIFE, October 24 & 25
Taught by Max Ginsburg

This workshop will concentrate on painting a head from life in a traditional manner using oil paints. The main goals of this workshop are to see the unique abstract forms on the model to achieve a greater reality - as in a Sargent painting; and to develop form to create depth and solidity in order to paint a solid head in an atmosphere - as in a Rembrandt painting. Ginsburg will demonstrate and give critiques as needed.

Put more excitement and interest in your pastel paintings by making your own unique painting surfaces. Creating what we paint on, as well as what we paint, is the focus of this workshop. Through the use of color, texture, and more, Chris will help students create, and then paint on, surfaces that add new dynamic dimensions to painting with pastel, the purest pigment of all painting media. This is great for any pastelist who is looking to explore new and challenging artistic avenues in a fun and relaxed environment. Perfect for all levels-beginner to advanced. Demonstration included.
