KATONAH, NY.- Loren Anderson is on a mission. The director of the
Katonah Art Center wants everyone to have the chance to be an artist...at least for a day. And not only that, she is also helping disadvantaged kids at the same time.
The Katonah Art Center announces Art Days. "We like to give back to the community, and this is a particularly great way to do it. We get the chance to expose all adults and kids to art, and we can help underprivileged kids at the same time," says Ms. Anderson.
This season's Art Day will be held on September 12, from 1-4 at the Katonah Art Center, 131 Bedford Road in Katonah. Participants can draw, paint, do pottery, sculpture, animation, cartooning, crafts, music...all for FREE! There will even be a model dressed in costume for artists of all ages to draw and paint.
KAC teachers will be available for instruction, demonstrations, advice, help, and even to give tours and answer questions about their classes. "Art Days give us the most exciting chance to work with adults and kids who've never been exposed to art," says award-winning watercolor artist Cindy Sacks, one of KACs instructors.
For hungry and thirsty artists, refreshments will be served.
Donations for the day will be accepted. All proceeds will go to the KAC 131 Scholarship Fund, which raises money for disadvantaged kids.
