BARCELONA.- The Fundació Arranz-Bravo has a collection of 290 of the artists works, of which 97 are paintings (including many large format ones), 59 are drawings and paintings on paper, nine are bronze sculptures (including the bronze and aluminum prototype of El Pont de la Llibertat, which is located at the junction of Rambla de la Marina and Avinguda del Carrilet in L’Hospitalet), one is a polychrome sculpture – L’Acollidora de la Fundació – and 124 are engravings using a variety of techniques (etchings, lithographs and serigraphs). Two theatre sets also form part of the collection.

The collection begins with works from the 1950s, which hold a great deal of interest for scholars of his oeuvre, and continues year by year up to the present day.

Thanks to the Fundació’s exhibition, Arranz-Bravo’s works, which can be seen in many places abroad, can now be examined in detail in L’Hospitalet, a city with which the artist has very strong ties. These ties began to form with the installation of the bronze sculpture L’Acollidora – a symbol of the city – in L’Hospitalet’s Rambla de Just Oliveras.

The Fundació Arranz-Bravo has already done a significant amount of dissemination work through a travelling exhibition containing selected artworks from its holdings. This exhibition was organised by Barcelona Provincial Council, and visited several towns. In addition, the Fundació has produced a number of publications, like the catalogue of his visual artworks, a facsimile edition of the book Sí EAB and the bibliophile’s book On éreu?, with seven of the artist’s original lithographs and seven texts by Francesc Parcerisas.

The Fundació Arranz-Bravo intends to hold a series of temporary exhibitions of young, dynamic art, placing a great deal of emphasis on the aspect of “hosting” the very latest in artistic trends.

Finally, the Fundació Arranz-Bravo is aiming to become a cultural reference point for L’Hospitalet and to provide the city with a national and international meeting place.

The Arranz-Bravo Foundation will be open next September.
