STANFORD, CA.- Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University announces the 8th presentation of Rodin by Moonlight, the museum's biennial fundraiser, to be held this year on Saturday evening, September 26. Limited to 400 guests, this intimate event begins with cocktails, followed by fine dining outdoors in the world renowned Rodin sculpture garden, and continues with dancing.

“Recognizing the current economic climate, we carefully considered the decision to hold the event this year. We consulted the museum’s friends, who encouraged us to move forward, because particularly at this time, the Center’s service to the community and campus is critical,” said Julie Terrell Hooper, chair of the museum’s membership board and a member of the Rodin by Moonlight planning committee. “The Cantor Arts Center offers an exceptional experience free of charge to all, and revenue from Rodin by Moonlight is an important source of funding in ensuring the museum’s continued excellence."

This event was once hailed as “Best Black-Tie Event in the Bay Area” by Carolyne Zinko in the San Francisco Chronicle. A cocktail reception begins the festivities, followed by a dining experience created exclusively for Rodin by Moonlight by celebrity guest chef Charles Phan of The Slanted Door, working with Paula LeDuc Fine Catering. Following dinner, guests dance to the eclectic sounds of Big City Review.

This year’s Honorary Chairs for Rodin by Moonlight are Dianne and Tad Taube. The guest list promises a group of distinguished individuals. Guests in previous years have included Nobel Laureate Paul Berg, former Secretary of State George Shultz, Ambassador Bill Lane, former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo.

Proceeds benefit the Cantor Arts Center’s educational programs and exhibitions and help the Center to remain admission-free. For information about Rodin by Moonlight, call 650-736-1667.
