NEW YORK, NY.- Clues to Identity on view in the Rita K. Hillman Education Gallery at the School of the
International Center of Photography presents the work of twenty artists who participated in Independent Project Seminars over the last three years.
Exhibition curator Chuck Kelton, Independent Projects Seminar Advisor at ICP says, It is thrilling to see works developed beyond their original pre-visualized expectations. It has been a pleasure to work the last three years with two very committed and creative groups. The exhibition features a representative selection of images of each artists specific project. Some of these works are conclusive while others are a work in progress, each bound to one another by the common thread of the use and master of traditional silver gelatin materials.
The Independent Project Seminars are structured to provide an environment where each artist can develop and complete a body of work. They are a collaborative effort that allow for discussion of the conceptual, visual and technical issues that define each artists work. Each artist brought their own independent project to the seminar, brought together not by a prescribed visual ideology or theme, but by a desire to share a distinctly unique experience.
