CLEVELAND, OH.- The Print Club of Cleveland celebrates two landmarks this October, the 25th Annual Fine Print Fair and the 90th anniversary of the Club. The Fine Print Fair, Cleveland’s largest and most comprehensive exhibition of fine prints, begins Friday, October 9, 2009 with an opening night benefit preview and continues Saturday, October 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday, October 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Corporate College. The Fine Print Fair benefits the Department of Prints at the Cleveland Museum of Art ( CMA ) and is sponsored by the Print Club of Cleveland, a non-profit adjunct organization dedicated to supporting the museum’s print collection.

Due to its popularity, “Curator’s Choice” will return with Dr. Glaubinger’s selection of works from each dealer in varied price ranges she considers of exceptional interest and worthy of acquisition by the museum. Dr. Glaubinger will lead a tour of the dealers’ booths at 7 p.m. at “A Prints of a Party.” “Curator’s Choice” prints will be on view and available for sale throughout the Fine Print Fair. Dealers donate 10 percent of these sales to benefit the Print Club’s fund to acquire prints for the museum.

The ticket price of $10 ($5 for students with I.D.) covers entrance to the Fair both Saturday and Sunday. Hourly door prizes will be given away all weekend. The Corporate College café, Java City , will be open all day Saturday and Sunday and musicians from the Tri-C Musicians will perform throughout the weekend.

The opening night benefit preview, Friday, October 9 from 6 to 9 p.m., features catered hors d’oeuvres by Sammy’s, a cash bar, free parking and an opportunity to select great works of art on paper before the Fine Print Fair opens to the public on Saturday. "Our Prints of a Party Friday night benefit celebrates the 90th anniversary of The Print Club of Cleveland and our 25th Fine Print Fair," Mary Kay DeGrandis , Fine Print Fair chair, said. "Do not miss this opportunity to view and purchase an exceptional selection of prints, drawings and photographs from 14 knowledgeable dealers.”

Fourteen galleries from coast to coast will offer five centuries of outstanding prints, drawings, and photographs in a broad range of prices. Galleries include: Armstrong Fine Art, Chicago, IL (19th/20th-century French prints and drawings); William P. Carl Fine Prints, Northampton, MA (19th/20th-century American and European prints and drawings); Dolan/Maxwell, Philadelphia, PA (contemporary American and European prints and drawings); Flatbed Press, Austin, TX (Contemporary prints, print publisher); C & J Goodfriend, New York, NY (Old Master/20th-century representational prints and drawings); Conrad Graeber, Riderwood, MD (American, European, and Japanese prints and drawings); The Halsted Gallery, Bloomfield Hills, MI (Photographs); Marlborough Gallery, New York, NY (Contemporary prints); The Old Print Shop, New York, NY (American prints 1900-1950); Ruiz-Healy Art, San Antonio, TX (Contemporary Mexican and Latin American works on paper); Mary Ryan Gallery, New York, NY (American and British prints and drawings 1920/present; The Verne Collection, Cleveland, OH (ukiyo-e and contemporary Japanese prints), Diane Villani Editions, New York, NY (Contemporary prints, print publisher); and Zygote Press, Cleveland, OH (Print publisher).
