MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA.- The Minneapolis Institute of Arts presents "Three Stories from Little America," on view through February 9, 2003. In this exhibition, Vince Leo presents nearly one hundred photographs of family and friends in Ohio, made between 1974 and 2000. Many of Leo’s subjects are depicted repeatedly through time, making up an extended documentary of what Leo considers a particularly American fairy tale.
The Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program, an artist-run curatorial department of The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, is made possible by a generous grant from the Jerome Foundation.
The MAEP is an artist controlled exhibition program with a prominent gallery, schedule of exhibitions and professional staff at The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. This curatorial department is a true study in democracy—its exhibitions are selected by a panel of artists who are elected by and from their peers at an annual meeting of the artist community held each fall at the Institute. Since 1975 the program has been fundamentally committed to the perceptions and evaluations of artists; and has produced and presented over 130 exhibitions of contemporary art. The Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program is supported in part by a generous grant from the Jerome Foundation.
