Lynch, President and CEO of Americans for the Arts, the leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America, informed the organization’s membership today that the gift that it has received from Ruth Lilly is expected to exceed $120 million. The extraordinary donation from Ms. Lilly, an heir to the Eli Lilly pharmaceutical fortune and a longstanding supporter of Americans for the Arts, will be received over the next 30 years.
In a letter to members of Americans for the Arts, Bob Lynch expresses his deep gratitude to Ms. Lilly and describes the careful process that the organization has undertaken to ensure the proper management and use of the funds, which will “benefit the arts throughout the country and … create more opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate the arts.”
