PHotoEspaña presents Descubrimientos PHE02

MADRID, SPAIN.- PHotoEspaña presents Descubrimientos PHE02 (Discoveries), a launching platform for new talents in the field of international photography. Descubrimientos PHE02 is a portfolio review for new artists who wish to make their way in the professional photography market.

PHotoEspaña invites you to show your portfolio to some 20 international experts, including prestigious exhibition curators, graphics editors from the most important journals, museum, exhibition hall and gallery directors from Spain and other countries, as well as representatives of the most outstanding photography festivals.

If you wish to participate in Descubrimientos PHE02, all you have to do is fill out the registration form and send your project, with a maximum of 15 photographs in colour or B/W on paper (either photographic paper or laser photocopies) before April 26 to:

Descubrimientos PHE02

La Fábrica

Alameda, 9

28014 Madrid (Spain)

The PHotoEspaña team, headed by Oliva María Rubio, the Festival’s Artistic Director, will make the preliminary selection of the work presented. A maximum of 60 artists will be chosen to participate in Descubrimientos PHE02, which will take place on June 15 at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre in Madrid.

PHE02 will only contact those photographers who have been preselected. Their names will be published in the Festival’s web site (www.phedigital.com) as of May 13.

The registration fee for Descubrimientos PHE02 is 100 EUROS and guarantees that your portfolio will be seen by at least six experts. Work sessions with each reviewer will last a maximum of 25 minutes.

The winner will receive the Best Portfolio Prize, consisting of an exhibition in PHotoEspaña 2003. The images from all participants will be shown during the Festival’s Nocturnal Projections and at the PHE02 Award Ceremony.  Furthermore, space will be made available for one year in www.phedigital.com to display each participant's portfolio and curriculum.

Projects that are not selected can be picked up at La Fábrica from May 13 to May 24. PHE02 will only return works if this is specifically requested in the project.
