NEW YORK, NY.- For the first time, the two world-renowned Salvador Dalí experts Mr. Enrique Sabater y Bonany, Dalís personal secretary and confidente for over 12 years, and Mr. Beniamino Levi, president of the Stratton Foundation and The Dali Universe, are working side by side on the exhibition The Vision of a Genius at the Time Warner Center in New York, located in New York's Columbus Circle, between Broadway and Central Park.
As the exhibition curators, these two Salvador Dalí experts and avid collectors, have brought many years of experience, and their own particular specializations within the Dalinian oeuvre, to create a fascinating show and a comprehensive overview of the work of The Master of Surrealism.
On display are more than forty original Dalí artworks, including: paintings, watercolours, and ink drawings, which are on loan from private collections. All of these artworks are curated personally by Mr. Enrique Sabater y Bonany, who lived with Dalí and his wife Gala and became extremely close to the artist. The artworks represent examples of Dalí's creative development at the height of his Surrealistic powers and indeed they serve to summarize the artists career in two dimensional form.
The sculptural works were selected and curated by Mr. Beniamino Levi. The highlight of the exhibition are two monumental sculptures which create a striking exhibit bound to leave visitors awestruck. These imposing sculptures 'The Persistence of Memory' and the' Woman Aflame' stand respectively 16.5 feet and 11.5 feet tall, both Dalinian images impressive for their size as well as the visual impact they create.
Also on show is a large grouping of fourteen stunning museum size bronze sculptures featuring the notorious 'Space Elephant', the 'Toreador Hallucinogene' and the 'Profile of Time'. These Dalí sculptures represent the great Catalan genius's iconographic images in three dimensional form, and are collected by art aficionados and enthusiasts the world over.
Presented by Galerie Elysees and the Stratton Foundation this world class sales exhibition will be ongoing until April 2011.
