Gallery owner Lawrence Matthews said, this exhibition examines the connection between artistic styles shared between European artists and American artists. There has always been a strong association between European artists and several of the artists associated with the Santa Fe and Taos movements. This exhibition will give viewers a look at those connections.
Co-curator of the exhibition, Therese OGorman, said, many of these artists are cornerstones of art history and some have never been shown together before in Santa Fe. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to see works by some of the great artists of the late 19th and 20th century.
The Matthews Gallery is located at 669 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico and specializes in European and American Modernism and Contemporary art.
