BALTIMORE, MARYLAND.- The Church of St. Ignatius in Baltimore has unveiled the restored painting of Jesus, his Father and St. Ignatius made by Italian artist Constantino Brumidi. The artist gave it to the church on December 3, 1856. Rev. William J. Watters, who started the restoration, stated, "It was so dreary, there was nothing uplifting about it. It was overpowering, and not in an inspiring way. Now it has that sense of awe and reverence - that sense of being called by the Father." The restoration cost $30,0000 and four months. There are Brumidi frescoes in the walls and ceilings of the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
