Photographer Fernand Fonssagrives, 93, Dies



LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.- Fashion photographer Fernand Fonssagrives, 93, died in Little Rock. He was famous for his elegant pictures of his first wife and model Lisa Fonssagrives. He became known as one of fashion’s premiere photographers throughout the Twentieth Century, died last Wednesday after a brief illness at the age of 93. Fonssagrives, one of the most respected commercial   photographers during the Fifties, began his career photographing his Swedish wife Lisa, who became one of the world’s top models, for the likes of Town and Country, Vogue and Vanity Fair. He later divorced Lisa and subsequently married his second wife, figure skater and teacher Diane Capron, who he later also divorced. His family announced his death on Tuesday after a private funeral service in Little Rock, Arkansas, where the native Frenchman lived for the last 30 years.
