BERLIN.- Over the short period of time since its opening in November 2006, the museum The Kennedys has established itself as an accredited cultural institution. Popular with Berliners not only because of the city’s close historical ties with John F. Kennedy, the second biggest museum in the world about the history of the Kennedy family also draws tourists from all over the world, who consider it a place of interest well worth visiting.

In order to honour the ever-increasing interest in the exhibition and to expand its dimensions, the museum THE KENNEDYS will move to the Ehemalige Jüdische Mädchenschule Berlin at Auguststraße 11-13 and reopen in August 2012. A total of more than 500m2 of exhibition space offers exceptional curatorial possiblities to enhance the existing and internationally acclaimed exhibition of the museum THE KENNEDYS with more photographs, original historical documents, personal belongings and rare film material concerning the Kennedy family from the collection of the CAMERA WORK AG. The space is also excellently suited for additional special exhibitions, panel discussions or screenings. The museum THE KENNEDYS at its present location at Pariser Platz will close on May 31, 2012.

The museum THE KENNEDYS at the Ehemalige Jüdische Mädchenschule Berlin will cover the whole second floor of the house, which since its recent opening in February 2012 has already become a prominent center of attraction for a local and international clientele interested in culture and the arts. With the notable Berliner Museumsinsel in the immediate vicinity, the museum THE KENNDEYS will not only persevere as a principal institution within the cultural landscape of Berlin-Mitte, but will continue to attract attention internationally.
