SAN ANTONIO, TX.- Luminaria representatives announced updates for the 5th Annual Luminaria: Arts Come to Light, scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at HemisFair Park in San Antonio.
Excitement for the upcoming 5th Annual Luminaria is growing, says Richard Rosen, Artistic Director of Luminaria. As we prepare for Luminaria, our city leaders and our selected artists are looking forward to showcasing the artistic talent from our community, to the rest of the country and beyond.
The event, originally slated for March 10, 2012, was postponed due to inclement weather. With the exception of a select number of artists who are unable to participate due to previously scheduled commitments, the majority of the original selected artists are all confirmed. The Opening Ceremony will be held near the Instituto Cultural de México and the clock tower in the center of HemisFair Park.
For the first time, attendees will be able to experience Luminaria like never before with Luminaria Live, developed by title sponsor, Rackspace Hosting. Luminaria Live is an interactive guide to be used with mobile devices that has information on the event, the artists and more. Additionally, VIA will offer Park & Ride services from the Crossroads and Madla Transit Centers to Luminaria, between 5:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Luminaria has elevated the food fare, giving patrons a true culinary experience in two food areas. Food offerings will include eclectic cuisine, barbecue, Mexican food, gourmet food trucks and more.
