JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI.- The Mississippi Museum of Art presents "Passionate Observer: Eudora Welty - Among Artists of the Thirties," on view through June 30, 2002. In this innovative exhibition, Eudora Welty's photographs of the 1930's Great Depression are presented together with paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and photographs of notable American artists of the era - offering comparisons between Welty's artistic motivation and other visual interpretations of the times. More than just a chronicle, Welty's photographs, like her celebrated story writing, reveal the courage and dignity of the American people during this pivotal era.
