CHICAGO, IL.- The Board of Directors of The Renaissance Society, Chicago’s internationally renowned non-collecting museum of contemporary art, has elected Greg Cameron to be its new President, succeeding Jennifer Levine. Cameron takes office immediately, for a three-year term.

"Greg’s long commitment to the arts and to public service demonstrates that he will be an excellent leader for the museum as it prepares for its centennial celebration in 2013, and beyond. A trusted and valuable member of The Renaissance Society's Board since February 2010, we are truly grateful to him for the additional commitment he assumes in taking on this new role. At the same time, we thank Jennifer Levine for her support and guidance. We are extremely pleased that Jennifer will remain with us as a board member and we look forward to many more years of working closely with her.”

Having built his career for many years working at non-profit and arts institutions, like WTTW, Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Institute, he is uniquely qualified to guide The Renaissance Society as it moves forward into its next century."

Greg Cameron is Chief Operating Officer of WTTW, having joined the organization in April 2008 as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Cameron, a resident of Chicago, served as the Deputy Director and Chief Development Officer at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago from July 2000 – March 2008. Prior to that, he held the position of Chief Development Officer, in addition to several key positions in the development office. From 1994-1997, he served as the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations at the Art Institute of Chicago, and as Development Coordinator at the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs from 1986-88. In addition to his service as President of the Board of Directors at The Renaissance Society, he is an active board member of Young Women’s Leadership Charter School, Arts Alliance Illinois, 3Arts, and the University of Chicago Children's Hospital Friends Against AIDS. Cameron also serves on various strategy and fundraising committees at other cultural organizations such as the Center on Halsted, The School of the Art Institute, College of Art and Architecture/University of Illinois at Chicago, Donors Forum of Chicago, and Links Hall.
